Celebrating the Festival of Lights at Sanskaar Bharti Public School
Diwali — the festival of lights, joy, and togetherness — holds a special place in every Indian heart. At Sanskaar Bharti Public School, this festival is celebrated not just as a tradition, but as a way to spread happiness, share knowledge, and strengthen the bonds of unity and goodness. The five days of Diwali bring with them a beautiful blend of devotion, culture, and fun-filled learning for our students.
Day 1 – Dhanteras: The Beginning of Prosperity
The celebration begins with Dhanteras, which marks the start of the festive week. On this day, we worship Lord Dhanvantari, the God of health, and Goddess Lakshmi for prosperity. At Sanskaar Bharti Public School, students learn about the importance of good health and hard work as true wealth. Teachers explain how this day reminds us that health and knowledge are our greatest treasures. Students also decorate classrooms with diyas and rangoli, spreading positivity all around.
Day 2 – Choti Diwali: The Triumph of Goodness
The next day, Choti Diwali, also known as Naraka Chaturdashi, symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. At school, a short storytelling session is held where teachers narrate the story of Lord Krishna defeating the demon Narakasura. Students participate in art and craft activities, making diyas and paper lanterns. The spirit of joy fills the air as everyone prepares for the grand Diwali ahead.
Day 3 – Diwali: The Festival of Lights
The most awaited day, Diwali, celebrates Lord Rama’s return to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile. The school shines bright with beautiful lights, candles, and colorful decorations made by students. A special assembly is organized, where students perform skits, dance, and songs based on Diwali’s message — the victory of truth and righteousness. Teachers remind everyone that true Diwali lies in lighting hearts with kindness, not just homes with lamps. The principal and staff also share sweets and greetings, creating an atmosphere of unity and love.

Day 4 – Govardhan Puja: Respecting Nature
The fourth day, Govardhan Puja, celebrates the story of Lord Krishna lifting the Govardhan mountain to protect villagers from heavy rain. This day teaches students about gratitude and respect for nature. At Sanskaar Bharti Public School, eco-friendly activities are organized, encouraging students to protect the environment — the modern form of Govardhan worship. Students make posters and plant saplings to express their love for Mother Earth.
Day 5 – Bhai Dooj: The Bond of Love
The final day, Bhai Dooj, celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters. Students share their thoughts and handmade greeting cards to express love and care for their siblings. The message of family love and support is beautifully discussed in classrooms, teaching students the value of relationships and respect.
Conclusion
The five days of Diwali at Sanskaar Bharti Public School were not just a series of celebrations, but a journey of learning, joy, and togetherness. Each day reminded students of the values of honesty, love, care, and respect — the true essence of Diwali. The school campus glowed with lights, laughter, and the spirit of unity as students, teachers, and staff came together to celebrate India’s most beloved festival. Through such celebrations, Sanskaar Bharti Public School continues to nurture cultural understanding, moral values, and the spirit of happiness in every child — truly making learning a festival in itself.
